Collegial conflict resolution is designed to help individuals who intend to have an ongoing working relationship foster respect for one another. Many times, you and a colleague may need to create new patterns and systems for the relationship to function better.  Most places of impasse between mature adults occur because of personality differences, mismatched priorities and values, or worldview differences.  The art of continually finding compromise is a skillset and an attitudinal approach that can be taught, practiced and mastered.  Knowing ourselves and our colleagues well allows us to find solutions that are not readily evident, but that will likely work in a variety of scenarios.  This work is for people who genuinely want to find respect and admiration for someone different than themselves, but keep hitting roadblocks along the way.  The tools include non-violent communication, feelings and needs assessments, negotiation skills and advanced listening skills.  Knowledge you gain in this arena also translates well to finding compromise with difficult relatives, neighbors or teens.
